My poor little horsie

I guess the truth is that I don't have that much time, so when I actually do get to ride him then Freedom has a long session filled with lots of things. Today I couldn't get on him soon enough, and it was dark so early, so I ended up riding with a light. It also was a full moon so it was nice. I started with the whole sidepassing thing, which Free just doesn't get very easily. Bumper spurs were added to help him but it ended up still not really making much different. What makes Left Brain introverts hard? Hmmmm, perhaps the fact that their idea of moving is usually slowly and it takes work to get the momentum. Jamie Thomas can probably relate ;) Go sticks added to help remind them that you really could pop their butts if they do not get going.
So, with ALOT of energy and urging we were able to start to get the sideways movement down under saddle. The great thing about this type of personality is that his favorite word really is whoa and it makes him have a great stop. It also came in handy as I was teaching him to jump the barrels with me on (still slightly sluggish) and drag a tarp from his back. All in one day, I must say that Freedom always inspires me. To end off the day we chased goats and he really got into in :)
