Day 25

Huge progress and today Azania is again a sensible horse. We work on our riding, me pushing him to learn alot. First we get our backup, with me shifting my weight backwards and closing the reins so he can not go forward, he quickly learns to do it without even the reins. (mind you that we are still in a halter, not a bit). Then we get a lope which really is as smooth as his trot. Incredible. Of course he is a little bit leaning on the side of needing a go stick :) to help encourage that lope. Then we learn to sit back on his haunches and yield the shoulder to my leg and sometimes with some decent speed. Perhaps we may learn to spin eventually? We did get some upward, high ho silver, movement today on my little trouble maker. I am hoping the slight lazy side wins out and that rear will become too much work for him to do :) I really don't like to be that high up in the air.......
